Frequently Asked Questions
1. What inspired you to become an author?
I’ve always had a love for reading, but the first inclination I had that I might want to be a writer occurred when my third grade teacher asked us to write and submit a fictional story. She happened to mention (with great reverence) that a previous student had written a whole three pages the year before. Academic enthusiast that I was, I went home and feverishly wrote a thirteen page story. I’m sure it was awful, but, looking back, I think that was the beginning of it all.
2. When did you publish your first book?
My debut novel, Duke in Distress, will be published December, 2026.
3. What genres do you write in?
I write romance for the time being. It’s the genre of my heart (pun intended).
4. How do you come up with ideas for your books?
The characters talk to me first, then scenes pop into my head, and the world fills in slowly around it all. My writer friends all have different processes and approaches - there’s no one “right” way. Just let your mind be free of any judgment and see where it takes you!
5. Can you tell us about your writing process?
I am a pantser with plotter tendencies, meaning I write what comes to me until I need to figure out how it all ties together. There is no one-size-fits all approach to writing, so whatever works for you is perfect.
6. How long does it take you to write a book?
About a year, although my debut novel took five!
7. Do you have any writing tips for aspiring authors?
Absolutely! I can boil it town to four recommendations: (1) write the book you want to read, (2) get the s*itty first draft out on the page and don’t judge it along the way, (3) find a writing community to work alongside and build friendships within, (4) finish the damn book!
8. Where can I purchase your books?
As soon as my first novel is published, I’ll provide a link here. Thank you for your support! It means so much to me.
9. Are you planning any book signings or events?
Yes! With my debut novel’s publication, I’ll be doing a book tour. Keep checking my website for updates.
10. How can I contact you?
I’d love to hear from you. You can reach me through the contact form on this site or via my literary agent.
